Please bring with you: Warm clothing, rubber boots, swimmwear, houseshoos.

 

Note: raincoats and helmets can be borrowed from us at no further cost.

 

Please keep in mind that you can only bring new or desinfected clothes for horseback riding when entering Iceland. Furthermore, you are not allowed to bring any of your own saddles or bridles to Iceland. Historically, Iceland horses have been isolated from the European mainland for many centuries and therefore are very vulnerable to any imported diseases, viruses and infections.

Please help us to keep our horses healthy!

 

The weather

During an Icelandic summer, you must be prepared for the sun and the rain as well as the wind and the snow. Temperatures can range from 0° - over  20°C (32° - 49° F) therefore, pack warm clothing but don’t forget your sunglasses and swimwear!

 

The horses

Our unique Iceland horses not only have two special gaits: tölt and pass but are also known for their good characteristics. They are kept outside in natural herds and are friendly, enduring, sociable, often high spirited and most importantly, they are absolutely lovable.

 

The horseback rides

We designed the horseback rides for experienced riders. You should have experience in cross-country riding.

 

It is very important to us that our horses which bring us so much happiness and joy do not get overly exhausted – neither mentally nor physically. We keep them outside in natural herds and train them thouroughly for their tasks during the summer. We only use healthy horses for horseback rides, which can fulfill their tasks without any problems.

 

How to get to Iceland:

You can book a flight to Iceland at almost every travel agency. Icelandair, Icelandexpress, SAS and  LTU often have special offers available. 

 

We would be glad to help you plan your vacation and can arrange additional over-night stays at various hotels if you wish to stay in Iceland after or before your week at Brimilsvellir.

 

How to book your vacation at Brimilsvellir

You can book by telephone, mail, e-mail or fax. We will send you a confirmation of your bookings and the bill for your deposit. After we receive your deposit your reservation becomes binding/obligatory. We must  receive your deposit of 100 EURO per person within 10  days after you obtaining the confirmation. We must receive your full payment no later than 4 weeks prior to your arrival in Iceland.
