Iceland
is with its 103,106 km2 the largest volcanic island of the world.
There are 290,000 Icelanders, of whom 140,000 live in Reykjavík and its
satellite villages. The Icelanders live on fishing which is also the basis
of their economy. The peninsula of Snæfellsnes is one of the most
beautiful
and varied landscapes of Iceland. Here you´ll find rocky cliffs and sandy
beaches, fields of red lava, but also green pastures and, above all this,
the impressive glacier "Snæfellsjökull". The journey from Reykjavík to
Brimilsvellir takes about 2,5 hours.
