Cycling trip made by Icebike web master 26th December 2002 from Reykjavik to Þingvellir (Thingvellir) Temperature was about -5 °C during the night up to +6 °C during the day at this time. The trip was made after midnight of 26th. Stay one night in sleeping bag outside at Þingvellir. Then back on the road around 12 o'clock and arriving to Reykjavik around 15 o'clock
The weather has been very strange and unusual past weeks af the winter. Almost no snow with temperature more or less around +4 °C. Therefor some grass and leaves are still green or start growing again. It is also unusual to make a cycling trip in Iceland during the wintertime. The weather can change very fast during the day. Normally it can change from nice cycling weather to dreadful snowstorm in a just few minutes. All those who can cycling more than three days in nice weather during the winter time are just lucky
The pictures starts with a map that show the way, all in all 100 Km. Picture no.2 is a nordic lights that was very sharp and bright during the night. The rest of the pictures are all taken at Þingvellir and on the way back to Reykjavik. There can you see the sun in highest position around 13 o'clock.

Enjoy
