Information on road conditions and weather
Information on road conditions is entered
weekdays from 7:30 - 18:00 and on weekends from 8:00 - 17:00 and
displayed here almost immediately. Outside these hours, information
remains unchanged and is erased at some point after midnight.
Weather information comes from automatic
weather stations and is therefore updated on a 24-hour basis. Weather
forecasts can be found at the
Icelandic Meteorological Office homepage.

always being accessible and up to date.

A map showing road conditions in different
regions may be obtained by clicking on the appropriate place on the
map of Iceland above; a map of the entire country can be had by
clicking on the center of the map. The maps contain general
explanations; more detailed explanations can be found
here.
If an old date appears on a map the most
likely reason is that an old map has been cached on the user's
computer or a computer it is communicating with. In that case the most
recent map may be obtained by clicking the
Reload
button (Netscape) or Refresh
(Internet Explorer).
