Nökkvi Elíasson

Born in 1966 in sauđárkrókur, Iceland. he began his career in photography in the summer of 1987, concentraiting mostly on black and white images. For the past decade he has dedicated himself to photographing deserted farms and other abandoned buildings. His work has appeared widdely on book jackets and in newspapers and magazines both in Iceland and abroad. He held his first major exhibition in the Reykjavík Museum of Photography in February 2001. The theme was Abandoned Farms in Iceland.
